Lorenzo Bonetti

Assistant Professor, University of Pavia - Project: ERC Starting Grant CoDe4Bio, ID 101039467 (funding: European Union).

Lorenzo studied biomedical engineering at the Polytechnic University of Milan, where he also received a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering, working on biobased stimuli-responsive hydrogels for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine applications. He is working on new approaches to the 3D printing/bioprinting of smart polymers and hydrogels and their characterization.

Postdoctoral Researchers
Nicoletta_Inverardi

Nicoletta Inverardi

Postdoctoral Research Fellow, University of Pavia - Project: Previous: ERC Starting Grant CoDe4Bio, ID 101039467 (funding: European Union). Now: StArT PRIN 2022 (funding: MUR).

Nicoletta graduated in Mechanical and Materials Engineering at the University of Brescia where she completed her PhD under the supervision of Prof. Stefano Pandini in the Materials Science and Technology laboratory. During her PhD she spent 15 months as a visiting student in the Langer Lab and Traverso Lab at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Between Brescia and MIT, her research focused on stimulus responsive materials for drug delivery. She held a postdoctoral position at the Harris Orthopaedics Laboratory at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, Boston. Under the mentorship of Prof. Ebru Oral and Prof. Orhun Muratoglu, Nicoletta worked on the preparation, characterization and clinical translation of high-performance therapeutic biomaterials for orthopedics implants.
PhD students
PaulCharkaluk

Paul Charkaluk

PhD Fellow, École nationale des ponts et chaussées and University of Pavia - Project: European Project MISCEA, ID 101126720 (funding: European Union).

Paul studied Mechanical Engineering at Ecole Centrale de Lyon, and completed his MSc thesis in collaboration with Phononic Vibes, on the development of a metamaterial barrier for the reduction of groundborne vibrations. He subsenquently worked during three years on the development of metamaterials applied to NVH issues. He is working on eco-innovative shape memory architected dampers for the seismic protection of infrastructures.

IMG

Mohammadreza Heidari

PhD Fellow, University of Pavia - Project: ERC Starting Grant CoDe4Bio, ID 101039467 (funding: European Union).

Mohammadreza graduated with an M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Kermanshah University of Technology, where he focused on material damage mechanics and finite element simulations. He will contribute to the development of advanced biomaterials for dynamic In Silico/In Vitro models as part of the PhD programme in BIOENGINEERING, BIOINFORMATICS AND HEALTH TECHNOLOGIES under the supervision of Professor Giulia Scalet, in the framework of European Research Council (ERC) project CoDe4Bio.

Simone Monti

Simone Monti

PhD Fellow, University of Pavia - Project: ERC Starting Grant CoDe4Bio, ID 101039467 (funding: European Union).

Simone graduated with a M.Sc. in Experimental and Applied Biology-Biomedical and Molecular Sciences at the University of Pavia, where he focused his research on the mechanisms underlying the recognition and repair of DNA damage induced by UV radiation, and their involvement in the subsequent regulation of various cellular processes. He will contribute to the development of a dynamic 3D and 4D in vitro models for preclinical screening in both solid and haematological tumours as a part of the PhD program in Genetics, Molecular and Cellular Biology of the University of Pavia under the supervision of Professor Giulia Scalet, Professor Natalia Pellegata and Assistant Professor Lorenzo Bonetti.

Visiting Researchers
Mohit_Goswami

Mohit Goswami

Postdoctoral Research Fellow, Technion-Israel Institue of Technology, Israel.

Mohit studied Mechanical Engineering at NIT Srinagar, India, completing his Master’s thesis in collaboration with the Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research. He defended his PhD thesis on mechanics of elastomeric composites at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, and in collaboration with the Purdue University. He is working on experimental mechanics and constitutive modeling of shape memory polymers, hydrogels, and aerogel filled sustainable elastomeric composites.
